When defining segment business rules, a new mandatory field CRM Segment is available alongside the existing free text segment name.
The dropdown options come from Setup > CRM Segments, configured by your administrator.
Multiple segments can share the same CRM Segment code. This is the expected pattern when you split a CRM tier into finer sub-segments for planning purposes.
Example: A client segments by Potential, Adoption, and Digital Profile. They end up with two "A" sub-segments:
| Segment Name | CRM Segment |
|---|---|
| A - Digitalists | A |
| A - Traditionalists | A |
Both are treated as "A" in the CRM and analytics, but are distinct in CEX360 for channel mix differentiation.
The Segments Definition Tab > Export now includes two columns:
Existing segments created before this feature are not affected. They will not have a CRM Segment code assigned. The code becomes required only when creating new segments or editing existing ones.
